An 83-year-old Toms River woman was tied during an overnight home invasion, according to police.
Police responded to a Princess Court home early this morning to a report of a robbery.
It was determined that an unknown male entered the house through a window and made his way to a bedroom where he confronted the resident.
The 83-year-old woman, who was home alone, was tied up around 3 a.m., while the suspect searched the home.
The man fled the house with an undetermined amount of proceeds.
Police are exploring all motives as well as the possibility that other suspects may have been involved
It is unclear at this time if this home was specifically targeted.
The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI unit is assisting Toms River Police Detective Duncan MacRae with the investigation.
