Authorities in Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported the arrest of Mr. John Campbell, 80, Waldwick, on charges of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Thursday, February 9, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit members executed a search warrant at the residence of Campbell during an Explicit Internet Images of Minor investigation.
Prosecutor Musella said the investigation revealed that Campbell used the Internet to view, download, possess, and distribute items depicting nude and sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent minors.
As a result of the investigation, Prosecutor Musella said police arrested Musella in Paramus and charged him with second-degree possession of Explicit Images of minors.
Campbell was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
