Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Eugene Venable announced today that the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating a fatal incident.
Authorities said at approximately 7:47 am yesterday Isaac Goldwasser, 71, of Newark was struck and killed at his business, AGM Logistics, L.L.C, located in the 300 block of Elizabeth Avenue in Newark by a truck driver who was attempting to back the tractor portion of a truck into the trailer.
The victim was pinned between the 1994 Freightliner tractor and the trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No criminal charges have been filed at this time against the 58-year-old driver. The investigation is active and ongoing.
