TRENTON (May 3, 2017) – Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director, announced that there were no Mega Millions game jackpot or second-tier New Jersey prizewinners, but there was one third-tier prizewinning ticket sold that matched four of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball drawn winning the $5,000 prize.
That ticket was purchased at Kearny Family Meat Market, 141 Kearny Ave., Kearny in Hudson County. If that ticket had been purchased with the Megaplier option, it would have multiplied the prize to $20,000.
The winning numbers for the Tuesday, May 2 drawing were: 05, 14, 42, 43 and 58.
The Gold Mega Ball was 01, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 04.
In addition, 13 other players matched four of the five white balls drawn making each ticket worth $500. If those tickets had been purchased with the Megaplier option, it would have multiplied the prize to $2,000. Moreover, 45,987 other New Jersey players took home $87,413 in prizes ranging from $1 to $200, according to Hedinger.
