5 Business Lessons Marriedpreneurs Can Learn From Cherry Blossoms

By O.L. & Sway Buckley

We live almost walking distance from the Cherry Blossom Center in northern New Jersey, which welcomes countless visitors from all over every year. We know it's Cherry Blossom season when we find ourselves stuck in traffic in the middle of the work day on a residential street because decent parking near the park is a treat!

Today we ventured out to walk in new areas of the Cherry Blossom Park to take pictures when we started getting curious to learn more about these gorgeous trees.

Success-Mapping Call

Believe it or not, there are quite a few business growth lessons that we marriedpreneurs can learn from Cherry Blossoms. Here are a few:

1️⃣ FACT: Cherry blossoms are a symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal.

BUSINESS LESSON: Have a renewing revenue model in your business where people can keep giving you money for your service or product. (Monthly/ Quarterly renewable subscriptions are a few examples).

2️⃣ FACT: Cherry Blossom petals are edible

BUSINESS  LESSON: Cherry Blossoms are more than just pretty. They offer different uses. Likewise, create different ways to show value to your market. Changing your positioning, messaging and offering a new perspective are great ways to do this.

3️⃣ FACT: Cherry Blossoms only bloom for one week

BUSINESS  LESSON: They are rare, so people come from all over to experience them when they bloom. In business, a brand's scarcity and exclusivity create a higher perceived value of your service or product. In short, having a waitlist is easier when you have strategic availability.

4️⃣ FACT: Japan has large flower-viewing parties, and they are a part of the culture.

BUSINESS  LESSON: Be a brand that creates its own culture and, as a result, it influences the lives of those in the vicinity and beyond. People can identify and resonate with your culture (core values).

5️⃣ FACT: They are planted for their beauty and fragrance, not just one.

BUSINESS LESSON: Genuine, (people-first) messaging will set you apart from the others in the industry who only see people as numbers without a name. Be known for your remarkable service (fragrance) that keep them coming back.
