More than 100 firefighters are on the scene of a raging 5-alarm fire that ripping through several homes in a neighborhood in the city.
Firefighters rushed to the single digit block of Weinberg Place at around 3 a.m. after receiving calls for a fire with possible injured and trapped occupants reported.
Upon arrival, crews requested mutual assistance from several neighboring towns after observing heavy flames engulfing a row house at that location.
The intensity of the fire had it extend to at least three other homes on the block occording to officials.
Several people were transported to area hospitals suffering serious burns.
There were no immediate reports of fatal injuries.
As of 5:30 a.m., the fire still had not been placed under control.
The cause is under investigation.
