The National Weather Service said today's weather forecast brings scattered showers and thunderstorms to our area, but no significant weather concerns exist.

But as the day progresses, we can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms, with a few potentially becoming strong to severe.

The humidity levels are relatively high, reaching 88%.

Combined with a light westerly wind speed of 6 mph, the weather will feel hot and humid on the 4th of July.

According to NWS meteorologists, the day will start off partly sunny, with temperatures gradually rising to a high near 91 degrees. The heat index values, which take into account both temperature and humidity, could reach as high as 99 degrees.
