Authorities have released the identity of a man found shot to death in Newark's West Ward early Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said Ulysses Murphy, Jr., age 44 of Newark was located in the 100 block of Columbia Avenue unconscious and unresponsive suffering from apparent gunshot wounds sometime after 6 a.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing with no arrests made at this time the spokesperson said.
