Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer reported that a 4-year-old boy is in critical but stable condition after a near-drowning incident in South Seaside Park on August 30.
Around 3:30 p.m., Berkeley Township Police responded to a residence where the child was found unresponsive after being removed from a swimming pool.
Emergency life-saving measures were immediately performed on the boy, who was then transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, the Special Victims Unit, the Berkeley Township Police Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
