4-Alarm Fire Destroys Several Apartments in Paterson Complex

A four-alarm fire tore through a building at the Inca Village Apartments at 133 Harrison Street in Paterson on Sunday night leaving numerous occupants homeless according to preliminary reports from the scene.

The fire started about 7:30 p.m. in a first floor apartment and quickly spread upward to the second floor and to the attic area.

Flames traveled across the attic of the building which housed a reported 16 to 20 apartments.

Firefighters from across Passaic and parts of Bergen counties assisted at the scene and covered the empty firehouses.

There were no initial reports of serious injuries.

The fire took over three hours to control.

The cause is under investigation.'
