Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Eugene Venable announced today that the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a fatal shooting.
The victim, identified as Keion T. Sanderson, 29, of Newark was shot in the 800 block of South 19th Street. The incident occurred at 12:52 am. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:08 a.m. today.
At this time no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made. The investigation is active and ongoing.
