The 1st Annual Bike Unity Event hosted by Latin Flavors Restaurant at 870 Broadway Newark, was organized by a group of concerned residents, business owners, and community activists hoping to draw in the youth and young adults of this city in a manner that many have contributed their lives too.
Bike Life, a movement or sport many would say is a fully-formed subculture with hundreds of riders in dozens of groups all across the nation. Here in the city of Newark, the pattern is quickly developing with not a single end in sight, as the city continues to grow new bike cooperatives are starting to form. Some are built up as non-profits or are grassrooted to their specific neighborhood in Newark, yet the ones to be worried about are the collectives that are forming with no structure or regard for NJ bike safety laws.

So the organizers chose to center this event for those riding out as a component of the Bike Life movement. Uniting bicycle enthusiasts, MC Biker clubs, Bicycle Collectives together for the love of Bike Life and saving lives.
The grand purpose of this event is to send a message to the county & city officials to take serious consideration of the need for safer and more illuminated bike paths and to build up skate park sections within the parks of the city of newark for residents who enjoy riding on All Wheels can have a place to go enjoy themselves safely and out of the line of traffic.
This event gives an opportunity for the already established Bicycle Organizations throughout the city to join together and advocate for a healthier and safer community.
The event will provide a workshop on Bicycle Safety and NJ Bike Laws by EZride. We are expecting a minimum of 250 youth to attend. This Bike Unity Event will incorporate education on bicycle safety, repair, and maintenance by active community members from Newark Co-op and a newly formed Bike club known as “Cycle Paths”.

We have included a Bicycle and Motorcycle showcase with entertainment by Rejectz Worldwide Radio & DG Music Group. Arts & Culture will be displayed by Torch Fuego & The Artchitectz followed by an arts and craft session with the Girls On Bikes collective. Physical assessments for adults and seniors with KPEC Performance and Dental screenings by the Jewish Renaissance D.O.M.E, project mobil unit.
