Plainfield police announce after conducting several drug and gun investigations throughout the city, a total of six loaded handguns, drugs - with a combined street value of approximately $200,000 - were seized and 18 individuals have been arrested.
According to police, between August 5th and September 3rd, the Plainfield Police Division's Narcotics Unit conducted several drug and gun investigations that resulted in the arrest of 18 individuals in connections with drug and weapons offenses as well as open warrants for miscellaneous violations.
During the investigation, police also recovered guns that included a Mac 11 Sub Compact Machine Pistol and five handguns, police said.
In addition, detectives seized a kilo of cocaine, 3.5 pounds of molly and 2 pounds of marijuana were recovered. Police also seized other drugs that included hundreds of glassine bags of heroin, gram packages of cocaine, ecstasy, prescription pills, suspected meth and assorted paraphernalia/manufacturing materials, during three different investigations.
Along with drugs and weapons, police also seized over $12,000 in cash.
