Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a Camden teen has been arraigned in the fatal shooting that occurred January 7, 2016 in the city.
Superior Court Judge John T. Kelley ordered Casche Alford, 17, held on $1,000,000 bail cash or bond Friday afternoon in the death of 13–year-old Nathaniel Plummer, Jr. of Camden.
Alford appeared in juvenile court Thursday on a first-degree murder charge and had her case waived to adult court.
According to a probable cause statement issued by assistant prosecutor Lauren Pratter, Alford is accused of fatally shooting Plummer in the area of Beacon and Line streets in Camden.
Camden County Police had responded at approximately 11:15 p.m. that night in reference to a ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls reporting a shooting. Officers arrived and located the victim lying on the sidewalk. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 12:14 a.m. on January 8.
The suspect has been held at a juvenile detention facility since January 9 when she surrendered to Camden County Police.
