The Mercer County Narcotics Task Force concluded a month-long investigation this week with one arrest and the seizure of $15,000 in cocaine, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
According to authorities, on October 11th at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers executed search warrants at the Reed Avenue home of 49-year-old Jose Serrano. Upon arrival, police detained Serrano without incident and a search of the residence revealed 150 grams of powder cocaine, $1,245 in cash and drug paraphernalia.
Prosecutor’s Sergeant Brian Kiely stated the seized drugs have an approximate street value of $15,000.
Authorities charged Serrano with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to have him detained.
Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
