Passaic County officials announced that the Passaic Police Department arrested and charged a fifteen-year-old juvenile for a shooting in the city of Passaic on December 31, 2020, that left two people hospitalized.
According to police, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:42 p.m. in front of 404 Monroe Street, Passaic.
A group of individuals stood on the sidewalk when a masked individual on a bicycle stopped across the street and fired several shots at the group.
According to police, male Passaic residents, a 21-year-old and a 24-year-old suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were treated at the hospital and released.
Police charged the juvenile suspect with two counts each of the following offenses, which, if committed by an adult, would constitute first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
The juvenile was remanded pending further proceedings in the Family Court.
A juvenile delinquency complaint is merely an accusation.
