14-Year-Old Boy Dies After Crashing Bike Into Car in NJ

A heartbreaking accident in Woodland Park has left a community in mourning after a 14-year-old bicyclist lost his life in a collision with a vehicle. 

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which occurred in the late afternoon.

According to information released by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Woodland Park Chief of Police Luigi DeLuca, officers from the Woodland Park Police Department responded to a distressing scene near Rose Place and McBride Avenue at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Monday. 

A young bicyclist, navigating between traffic, collided with the rear passenger door of a 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE. 


The impact proved fatal, and despite emergency responders arriving quickly, the teen was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He was confirmed as a student from Passaic Valley High School by school officials.   

The driver of the Mercedes-Benz remained on location and is cooperating fully with authorities as the investigation continues.

 No details have been released regarding potential contributing factors, and officials have not indicated whether any charges will be filed.  

The tragic loss of such a young life has shaken the local community, leaving family, friends, and classmates struggling to come to terms with the devastating news. 

Residents have expressed their sorrow, emphasizing the dangers faced by young bicyclists on busy roadways.
