Authorities in Newark are investigating a pedestrian accident that left a 13-year-old girl injured Monday morning in the city's North Ward.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, police responded to a call at around 7:15 a.m. regarding a pedestrian struck at the intersection of 7th Avenue and Ruggerio Plaza.
Upon arrival, officers found that a NJ Transit bus had struck the teenage girl.
The victim, who reported pain following the incident, was taken to University Hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
