Jackson Police are investgiating a crash that killed a teenage boy on a street in the Township Tuesday night.
In a preliminary statement, police said a 13-year-old boy died after he struck a vehicle at around 6:45 p.m.
Police say that the teen was operating a scooter on Farmingdale Road with friends when the boy turned the scooter into the path of a car.
EMS rushed the boy was to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he died from his injuries according to police.
The incident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
The teen’s name was not released.
