BREAKING NEWS PATERSON (update): Shots fired in the 400 block of 10th Ave. have police on the scene where one person has reportedly been shot multiple times in the chest. EMS rushed that victim to St. Joseph's hospital where he died a short time later. Police are searching for a black male wearing a black hoodie that reportedly fled in a newer model Nissan Maxima possibly onto East 28th Street. Police have a crime scene set up in the area and are searching for evidence at this time.
This is the second shooting in the city within the last 24 hours, with the first shooting resulting in a fatality early this morning on Rosa Parks Boulevard.
