SHOOTING AT FRATERNITY PARTY IN HILLSIDE LEAVES ONE INJURED

A shooting incident at an off campus fraternity party, with multiple students attending in Hillside Township around 3 AM this morning, left one person critically injured after being shot once in the abdomen according to authorities.

The shooting occurred on the 200 block of Conant St. and was reportedly was the result of a possible dispute between several party goers according to an initial investigation by Kean The shooter reportedly was involved in a verbal argument during the party which then escalated to a physical dispute which cause for individual to be physically removed. 

The victim, was reported to be around 18-19 was rushed to University Hospital in Newark where he was listed in critical condition. 

The suspect was described as leaving the scene in a gold colored vehicle.  A joint investigation between Kean University and Hillside Police is taking place. There is no word on if people involved were active students of the University.
