SEVERAL INJURED AFTER GUNFIRE ERUPTS OUTSIDE OF FUNERAL SERVICE IN TRENTON

Shots fired outside a church on the 400 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard during a funeral  service had several people injured. At least 100 mourners were attending the funeral when the gunfire rang out just outside of the church sending  three people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries shortly after 12 PM. 

Police and EMS rushed to the scene after initial reports of  gunfire inside the Galilee Baptist Church but police  found no evidence. 

A vehicle with several weapons was  located by police and at least one gun was reportedly found inside the church.  Police took a male suspect in custody a short time later. 

The funeral was for Cagney Roberts, a Trenton resident who was shot and killed in early April. Two other men were shot  in the shooting near St. Joes and Girard Avenues when a gunman opened fire on this men. 

A police car was reportedly assigned as a detail to the funeral when police reportedly heard the gunfire according to police. 

Several mourners attending the funeral said that the situation was chaotic and scary. 

An investigation is underway by Trenton Police.
