SUSPECTS IN GAS STATION ROBBERIES, NOW WANTED FOR A SHOOTING NEAR A NEWARK SCHOOL

Suspects wanted in at least three gas station robberies in Newark and East Orange overnight, are now suspected of a shooting near a school that left many in the area ducking and running for cover. The shooting occurred shortly before 4PM in the area of Madison Ave. and South 17th Street where one person was shot multiple times. The victim was rushed to University Hospital and is said to be in serious condition. Police believe that the suspects in the shootings are the same men that placed them on high alert overnight as several gas stations were robbed at gunpoint. 

Police responded to the first armed robbery that occurred at the Luke Oil gas station on McCarter Highway just before 10PM. The suspects, described as three male blacks armed with guns and wearing masked, pointed weapons at several attendants, taking an undetermined amount of cash. The suspects then fled in what's reported to be a black 2008 Infinite with a possible NJ License  "N51-CLU". 

The  men are considered armed and dangerous. If there is anyone with information on the whereabouts of these suspects, please contact Newark Police.
