A little more than a 24-hour violent shooting span in Newark has police with their hands full in attempting to solve at least 10 shootings that occurred in Newark since 9:30 Friday evening in the City. Gunfire rang out around the city leaving at least one dead and several in serious condition as of early this morning.
Here is a look at what we have been able to follow:
Friday around 9:30, man around age 29-years-old shot to the leg reported in the area of Mulberry and Emmett
Friday 1 a.m. 70's block Smith Street, Man shot multiple times
Saturday around midnight, Central Ave. and 8th Street man shot, non-life threatening (Woman injured, not clear if gunfire)
Saturday around 1 a.m. fatal shooting of 19-year-old man on Avon Ave.
Saturday around 2:45 p.m. 90's block of 14th Street man shot to legs
Saturday around 9 p.m. Teenage girl with graze wound to leg on Chadwick and Clinton
Saturday shortly before 9:30 p.m. Two people shot non-life threatening to shoulder and abdomen 300 block of North 7th Street
Saturday around 10:30 p.m. Two people shot (one to the head), drove up to University Hospital, reported 15th Ave. and 8th Street. (non-life threatening)
Saturday shortly before midnight, Man suffers multiple gunshot wounds, 12th and Madison (condition unknown)
Authorities are investigating.
