Authorities have released the identity of the woman killed Thursday afternoon after a fire broke out inside a Cranford home.
According to authorities, firefighter were called to 43 Brookdale Place at approximately 3:05 p.m. for a report of a fire with trapped occupants.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from the two and a half story wood framed home.
Officials say when firefighters gained entry into the home, they found an unconscious and unresponsive female inside the structure.
Police say 65-year-old Deborah Meehan was found on the first floor of the home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it was deemed accidental.
