Emergency crews in Middlesex County responded to a late-night truck fire that temporarily shut down part of a major highway on Friday night.
According to preliminary reports, shortly before 11:15 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the area of 2720 US-130 South in North Brunswick after receiving reports of a vehicle fire.
Upon arrival, crews found a truck loaded with food and supplies for a local Taco Bell restaurant fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters quickly stretched hose lines to contain the blaze, while South Brunswick Police temporarily closed the northbound lanes of Route 1 to assist emergency operations and ensure public safety.
The fire was brought under control within about 30 minutes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
