Police are investigating a shooting incident that happened Saturday night in Newark.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Central Avenue between South 9th and 10th streets after a ShotSpotter device detected gunfire in the area shortly before 7 p.m.
When cops arrived at the scene, they found evidence that a shooting had occurred, but during their search in the 500 block of Central Avenue, officers found shell casings but no victims
Several shell casings were discovered near 533.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
Authorities have not reported a motive for the shooting.
