Police and security at Jersey Gardens Mall placed the shopping center on lockdown while authorities checked for reports of shots fired Sunday.
Just before 1 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired and when they arrived, there were no evidence of a shooting after a search.
Police are looking into a possible false alarm that initiated the officers’ response.
The incident is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
