Armed suspects reportedly knock on the door of an apartment in the upper floors of a three story multi-family building located at 295 Hawthorne Ave. shortly before 11:30 p.m.
When occupants inside answered, several rounds of gunfire erupted, sending the people inside the apartment scrambling for safety. Shortly before the shootings ceased, three people jumped from the window, seriously injuring themselves.
Police and EMS raced to the scene where only one person was injured from a gunshot wound. The victim suffered a severe femur injury. Two other victims suffered serious injuries resulting from the fall from the window.
All of the injured are said to have life threatening injuries.
Police are investigating.
