Pedestrian Critically Injured in North Bergen Hit-and-Run

A pedestrian was left in critical condition following a hit-and-run incident early Wednesday morning in North Bergen, according to a statement released by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

The collision occurred around 5 a.m. on June 4, in the area of 2600 Tonnelle Avenue. 

When officers from the North Bergen Police Department arrived at the scene, they found a 42-year-old man from Union City suffering from serious injuries. 

The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop and fled the scene before police arrived.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The incident is under active investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit, with support from the North Bergen Police Department. 

Authorities are working to identify the vehicle and driver involved in the crash.
