Patchy Fog and Showers Continue Across Newark on a Cool, Damp Tuesday

Residents across Newark are facing a misty and damp start to the day, as patchy fog and light showers keep visibility low and the air heavy with moisture.

As of early morning, temperatures in downtown Newark hovered around 64 degrees under cloudy skies.

The National Weather Service advises that an umbrella will be necessary throughout the day, with off-and-on rain likely and conditions staying cool and gray.

Forecasters are calling for a 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 11 a.m., with patchy fog expected before 8 a.m. The high temperature will reach around 72 degrees.

The unsettled weather continues into the night.

Meteorologists expect showers to increase in coverage, with a chance of thunderstorms developing in the early morning hours.

Patchy fog will linger overnight as lows dip to around 66 degrees.

Drivers and early morning travelers are urged to use caution in areas of low visibility and give themselves extra time during the morning commute.
