Authorities in Bergen County announced the arrest of Seqiera M. Washington, 44, of Elmwood Park, on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and impersonation.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that the arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

In September 2023, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit initiated an investigation that revealed that Seqiera Washington obtained an electronic benefit transfer card belonging to another individual without authorization, officials stated.

According to officials, Washington spent approximately $2,700 in benefits by making cash withdrawals and several retail purchases.

Officials said on October 12, 2023, Seqiera Washington was charged with third-degree theft, third-degree receiving stolen property, and third-degree impersonation.

Authorities say Washington was released on her own recognizance pending her first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
