In the wake of recent terrorist attacks in Israel, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin has issued a statement emphasizing the state's commitment to ensuring the safety of its residents.

AG Platkin's message comes amidst rising global tensions and concerns about potential violence, and a former Hamas leader has called for "a day of action" for today, Friday 13, 2023.

The statement highlights that since the attacks in Israel over the weekend, the New Jersey Attorney General's office has been in regular communication with federal partners, county prosecutors, law enforcement leaders, and community and religious leaders.

Their primary focus is to maintain the safety of New Jersey residents during this period of heightened tension, increased social media activity, and peaceful gatherings.

While acknowledging awareness of online calls for violence against the Jewish community, the statement reassures residents that New Jersey has no specific threats to safety.

Law enforcement agencies, however, will continue to patrol sensitive areas, including places of worship for both the Jewish and Islamic faiths, large gathering venues, schools, and educational institutions to ensure that everyone feels secure.

Real EstateIn addition to visible measures, law enforcement will also be taking undisclosed precautions out of an abundance of caution. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to local authorities.

Platkin concludes the statement by pledging continued cooperation and communication among law enforcement agencies and the community.

In the event that the threat level escalates or additional precautions become necessary, these will be communicated through appropriate channels.

The New Jersey government is determined to prevent hate, intolerance, and violence within the state's borders.

The statement expresses solidarity with Israel and the Jewish community as they mourn the loss of innocent lives due to the recent terrorist attacks. It also extends prayers to all innocent civilians worldwide affected by the horrors of war.

The recent wave of violence in Israel has prompted concerns worldwide, with significant casualties reported.

Efforts to broker a ceasefire and de-escalate the situation are ongoing, but the conflict's impact on the global community remains a cause for concern.
