Newark Police Seeks Public Aid in Identifying Suspects in Halsey Street Shooting

Newark Police are actively seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a shooting incident that took place in the early hours of Wednesday, December 20. AdThe incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the 300 block of Halsey Street.

Police were called to the scene following reports of shots fired. While no victims were located, and no injuries have been reported, officers found a spent shell casing on the street. 

Investigators have released descriptions of three suspects seen in the area.

Suspect #1 is a short male, dressed in a red winter jacket, light-colored jeans, and white Jordan sneakers.

Suspect #2, a female with a light complexion and curly hair, was wearing a black jacket, black pants, and white/red Jordan Brand sneakers.AdThe third suspect, a tall male with a thin build, was clad in a blue jacket, a black ski mask, dark pants, and black sneakers.

The trio was last observed heading southbound on Halsey Street towards Lincoln Park.

Director Fragé of the Newark Police Department is urging anyone with information about these individuals to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

The department emphasizes that all tips provided to Crime Stoppers are kept confidential and could potentially lead to a reward.
