Newark Police Issue Arrest Warrant for Suspect in String of Burglaries

Newark Police have issued an arrest warrant for Quran J. Armstrong, 45, of Newark.

Armstrong is sought in connection with two separate burglaries on August 28, 2023, and September 30, 2023.

The first incident unfolded around 4 a.m. on August 28 in the 40 block of Unity Avenue. In this case, Armstrong was identified as the primary suspect.  

He gained access to a residence by entering through a basement window, where he proceeded to pilfer fabric softener and laundry detergent.

The second incident took place approximately at 11:10 a.m. on September 30 in the 50 block of Longfellow Avenue.

During this event, Armstrong was observed inside a victim's vehicle, where he absconded with $5 to $10 from the center console.

When confronted by a resident, Armstrong fled the scene, darting into a nearby backyard and scaling a fence to escape.

Director Fragé of the Newark Police Division is urging anyone with information regarding Armstrong's whereabouts to come forward promptly.

All provided information will be treated confidentially, and there may be a reward available for valuable tips that aid in Armstrong's apprehension.
