Newark Police Investigates Early Morning Shooting in South Ward

Newark Police were called to the scene of a shooting in the city's South Ward early Friday morning.

Real EstateAround 1:50 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Watson Avenue and Hunterdon Street.

Upon arrival, police found several shell casings, indicating that shots had been fired.

Despite an extensive search of the area, no victims were located at the scene. In response to the incident, the Newark Shooting Response Team and Crime Scene Units were dispatched to assist with the investigation.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

The Newark Police are working to gather more information and are calling for any witnesses or individuals with knowledge about the incident to come forward.
