An all out police search was put into action for several armed and dangerous men who drove around the city wreaking "armed robbery" havoc on individuals overnight.
Reports of armed robberies that extended to several location in the city (mainly the North Ward) placed police on high alert as they attempted to box-in several suspects described as black males armed with at least one weapon.
The suspects reportedly committed robberies in the 300 block of North 7th Street, 20's block of Mt. Prospect Street, and the 100 block of Pennington Street while occupying a dark colored Honda Pilot at around 3:30 a.m. according to reports.
Police received reports of a vehicle fitting the description of the Honda Pilot in the area of West Alpine and Badger Ave. where several units converged on the area, conducting a heavy search.
The unoccupied vehicle was finally located in the 100 block of Ridgewood Ave.
There were no immediate reports of injuries in any of the armed robberies.
