The Union County Prosecutor’s Office will handle the investigation into a shooting incident that left a male dead in Elizabeth.
Early morning gunfire rang out in the vicinity of North Broad Street and Magnolia before 3:30 a.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a Somerset County male suffering bullet wounds to his head.
The victim was pronounced dead shortly after the shooting.
Elizabeth Police set up a crime scene while they investigated the motive for the attack.
No other injuries were reported.
