Authorities in East Orange are investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist late Thursday night.

According to preliminary reports, emergency responders rushed to the intersection of Grove Street and Central Avenue shortly before 10:00 p.m. after receiving calls about a motor vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, first responders found a motorcycle lying on the roadway following a crash with another vehicle.
The motorcyclist, who was reportedly unconscious at the scene, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
As of early Friday morning, the extent of his injuries had not been confirmed.
East Orange police temporarily closed the intersection to conduct an on-site investigation.
No additional details, including the condition of the other driver or potential causes of the crash, have been released at this time.
