Authorities in Orange are investigating a significant fire that erupted late Sunday evening in a vacant building on the 400th block of Main Street.According to an information release from the Orange Fire Department, the incident was reported around 9:30 PM on Sunday.
Deputy Chief Rivera, leading the response effort, arrived with his team to find intense flames engulfing the top floor of the three-story structure formerly occupied by the Rossi Paint Company.
The building, currently unoccupied, posed significant challenges to the firefighting crews.
Mutual aid units from neighboring communities, including East Orange, West Orange, South Essex, Irvington, Montclair, and Belleville, supported the Orange Fire Department.
The Orange Police Department, Orange Fire Prevention, Orange Emergency Management, UMDNJ EMS, Bell and Siren (Canteen), NJ Transit Rehab, Belleville Cascade Unit, and PSE&G provided additional on-scene support.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the blaze.
