Police in Paterson are investigating an early morning fire that ignited a car and injured one person in the city Thursday.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the northbound lanes of McClean Boulevard at 5th Avenue at approximately 3 a.m. to investigate reports of a fire.
Crews arrived at the scene found a fully involved car fire at that location. Firefighters were able to swiftly bring the blaze under control but not before locating one person suffering severe burns according to reports.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment while investigators stayed at the scene to investigate what caused the fire.
There were no other injuries reported.
