Police in Scotch Plains are investigating a home burglary reported in town Saturday night.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., police were dispatched to an address in the 20's block of Jacob Lanes after receiving reports of a burglary in progress.
Upon arrival, police notified a crime scene unit after they found a residence burglarized.
The suspect(s) reportedly unlawfully entered the home and ransacked the premises. The assailant allegedly took jewelry and other items before fleeing the scene.
Police reported no arrests and the investigation remains active.
