Gunmen opened scores of gunfire on a street that had police reportedly taking precautionary action before approaching the scene.
Over 20 rounds of gunfire rang out in the 60's block of South 9th Street shortly before 4 a.m. sending a large police response to the scene where the located multiple shell casings.
In a possible unrelated incident, shortly before 3 a.m., police activity at a bar on South 8th Street and Central Ave. had at least one person shot at that location. A male victim flagged down a police unit just outside University Hospital stating that he was shot at the Central Ave. bar. The victim suffered injury to the foot. A woman was injured at that location but we could not confirm if she was struck by gunfire.
It is not clear if the two incidents are related.
