Gunfire Strikes Vehicle on South 6th Street Newark

Police in Newark were called to the scene of a shooting on Monday night that resulted in no injuries.FitnessReports of gunfire led officers to 295 South 6th Street around 9:25 p.m., where a ShotSpotter device also signaled shots fired near 306 South 6th Street.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered several shell casings in the vicinity and identified an unoccupied vehicle that had been hit by gunfire.

The investigation is currently focusing on locating two masked suspects believed to be responsible for the shooting. Witnesses last saw the individuals fleeing the scene shortly after the shots were fired.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Newark Police are actively seeking information regarding the suspects and are encouraging anyone with knowledge of the event to come forward.

The situation remains under investigation as authorities work to ensure the safety and security of the community.
