Hundreds of people came out this morning in frigid temperatures to participate in the Jingle Bell 5K Run, a recreational race to benefit Children's Specialized Hospital.
Among the participants was Santa Claus, runners of all ages sporting festive gear and even the pets joined the festive run as they made their way from around The Outlet Collection Mall - Jersey Garden - in Elizabeth.
All runners receive special Jingle Bell 5k gear, a swag bag and jingle bells for their shoes. The race kicked off with many special guests, according to organizers. Following the race, an awards ceremony and complimentary pancake breakfast courtesy of IHOP was provided. Gift Certificates, valued at $250, were awarded to the top male and female runners.
