Firefighters in The Town of Harrison recovered the body of an unidentified person floating in the Passaic River this evening.
According to preliminary reports, a law enforcement agency contacted Newark Police at approximately 4:50 p.m. when they observed what appeared to be an unconscious male in the river near Raymond Boulevard.
Newark Police and Firefighters arrived and determined that the body was floating on the Harrison side of the border near the PSEG lot.
Harrison emergency responders located the body then made the recovery at approximately 5:30 p.m.
The identity of the person and the circumstances behind the incident has not been released at this time.
