Delayed Opening Information for Union County Offices

In the midst of the upcoming weather forecast, county officials declare a delayed opening for Union County.

According to officials, all non-essential employees should report by 10 a.m., Thursday, March 5.

As is the County’s practice, if anyone designated as non-essential personnel feels he/she cannot safely travel to work during these weather events, please consider using vacation or personal time to stay home.

In addition, per resolution 2014-481, non-essential employees may also choose to use available sick and/or comp time during a Governor-declared State of Emergency that impacts the County of Union. If no accrued leave time is available, non-essential employees may take the day without pay.

 Recycling:

Union County’s Scrap Metal Recycling Program scheduled for Thursday, March 5has been cancelled.  The next Scrap Metal program will be on Saturday, March 21st from 9 am to 12 pm.  Please visit www.ucnj.org/recycle for a list of locations and directions. 

Alcohol/Drug Abuse (A/DA) Grant Funds RFP:

The technical assistance meeting originally scheduled on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 10 a.m. per the Public Notice and the RFP document for the above RFP has been re-scheduled due to the impending inclement weather in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The technical assistance meeting is now scheduled for and will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 2PM.

Car Seat Check Program:

Facility will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, March 5th
