New Jersey State Police are investigating a fatal crash that killed one in Hope Township on Monday morning.
According to state police, the crash occurred at 10:22 a.m. on County Road 519 near milepost 47.7 in Hope Township.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Western Star tractor semi-trailer was traveling north on CR-519.
At the same time, police said a Sterling dual axle truck was traveling south on CR-519.
According to the investigation, in the area of milepost 47.7, the Sterling truck crossed the double yellow painted center lines, entered the northbound travel lane, and impacted the front of the Western Star head-on.
As a result of this crash, both drivers were ejected.
State police said that the driver of the Western Star, Mr. Lateef Dotson, 40, of Townsend, DE, sustained fatal injuries.
The driver of the Sterling, Brandon Loyle, 30, of Bangor, PA, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Morristown Medical Center.
The crash remains under investigation.
