Crash Injures Multiple Homeland Security Officers, Civilians in Elizabeth

Elizabeth Police launched an investigation into a crash that left several officers and civilians injured.

Spokeswoman Ruby Contreras said the incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. at 578 Spring Street when a vehicle lost control, veering off the road and crashing into a body shop business.AdAccording to Spokeswoman Contreras, the incident transpired while Homeland Security personnel were attending to their government vehicle inside the facility. 

The collision resulted in injuries to three officers present, damage to their vehicle, and harm to both an employee of the business and the driver of the car responsible.

Emergency services promptly arrived on the scene, transporting all injured parties to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.

Fortunately, initial assessments indicated non-life-threatening injuries.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to this unfortunate incident.
