By: Richard L. Smith Residents in Newark and across the North Jersey region are starting their Sunday with a refreshing and cool breeze as the second half of the weekend gets underway. As of 3:30 a.m., it’s a cloudy 64 degrees at the intersection of Mayor Kenneth Gibson Boulevard (Broad Street) and Market Street. For those heading to early morning worship services or other outdoor activities, a light jacket is recommended — but it won’t be needed for long. According to the National Weather Service, skies will gradually brighten as clouds make way for some sunshine later in the morning, helping to warm things up nicely. Temperatures are expected to climb to a comfortable high near 74 degrees, with a steady west wind between 14 and 18 mph adding a refreshing breeze throughout the day. By evening, conditions will cool down again. Sunday night’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a low around 56 degrees. It’s shaping up to be a beautiful day in the region — enjoy it, New Jersey!
